Mentorship contribution by Prof. Kamrul Hossain at the Early-Career Scholars Seminar on Ocean Law!
On October
18, 2023, the Centre for Law on Climate Change and Sustainability (CLoCCS),
Reykjavik University, organized the second edition of the” Early-Career
Scholars & Ocean Law seminar”. I was honored to be invited to the seminar
to offer my mentorship role through commenting and providing feedback on academic
presentations given by five promising scholars who work on their Doctoral
research in the Nordic Universities, including Reykjavik University, the UiT Arctic
University of Norway and the University of Copenhagen. While the presentation attracted
a diversity of topics, they were, however, interconnected. The presentation
primarily focused on linkages among climate change, marine biodiversity,
including areas beyond national jurisdiction and the law of the sea. Overall,
the presentations highlighted the link between climate change and ocean
governance. Medy Dervovic, a Ph.D. Candidate at ReykjavÃk University of the Department
of Law moderated the event.
