Release of the book - Decolonizing Futures!
The book is a product of the collaborative effort undertaken by the Hokkaido-based think tank organization - Centre for Environmental and Minority Policy Studies (CEMiPoS), Hugo Valentine Centre of Uppsala University in Sweden, and the Northern Institute for Environmental and Minority Law at the Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland in Finland. The book is made up of 17 chapters and 8 works of art. These contributors are from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Greenland, Spain, Poland, USA, Canada, Brazil, Columbia, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. The book is an outcome of the international and interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers and artists fighting in solidarity for the realization of decolonization, creating the basis for an open academic and art collective producing further outcomes. The majority of contributors, including artists, attended the International Conference on Policy towards Indigenous Peoples held in Sapporo in 2017.
