Webinar: Climate Justice in the Arctic: an emerging research agenda!
On 10 June 2020, Glasgow Caledonian University organized a webinar to share the knowledge on the impacts of climate change in the Arctic region. The event highlighted the concerns affecting climate justice by addressing vulnerability facing the region and its population. The event was attended by approximately one hundred participants, where three invited speakers presented their views on the following issues: the general theme of climate justice and interdisciplinary research agenda as it applies to the Arctic, health aspects linked to climate justice, and human security concerns of the Arctic indigenous communities. Among other invited speakers, Prof. Kamrul Hossain has presented his idea on using human security tools to analyse the implications of climate change on the Arctic region and its indigenous communities resulting in threats corresponding to climate injustices. The title of his presentation was: “Human security, climate justice and the Arctic indigenous communities".
